Dangerous Goods Container

Design and production of Dangerous Goods containers: an extra ventilated open side container with a 1200 litres tank inside for storage of (dangerous) chemicals

Shipping and storing hazardous materials presents a myriad of challenges, demanding strict safety protocols and highly specialized containers. Standard solutions typically include slightly modified open-side containers with rosters replacing the wooden floor and a large leak tray beneath the cross members. While these containers serve their purpose, there's always room for improvement - something our client, a forward-thinking company, realized and sought to achieve with Box2Build's help.

Our client wanted to enhance the conventional design of a dangerous goods container, making it more user-friendly, safer, and efficient without escalating the cost. We, at Box2Build, are firm believers in the power of collaboration and so embarked on a mission to meet this challenge head-on.

At the outset, we sat down with our client to clarify the project requirements. This early alignment allowed us to understand their vision and set a clear path towards achieving it. Our shared aim was to create a new dangerous goods container that maintained a standard rating but introduced several significant improvements.

Our design approach revolved around three primary improvements:

Ventilation: We developed a container that provided adequate ventilation but remained watertight - a substantial step up from the often leak-prone existing designs.

Bund Design: We reimagined the bund to be less obstructed, making it easier to clean and less susceptible to damage from underneath.

Cost Effectiveness: Despite the design enhancements, we remained committed to the initial pricing, demonstrating our dedication to value as much as innovation.

The result? A redefined dangerous goods container that blends efficiency, safety, and affordability seamlessly. This co-creation venture underpins Box2Build's commitment to understanding client needs and designing solutions that deliver superior performance. The project is a testament to our belief in breaking boundaries in container design, all while providing unmatched value to our clients.
