This development emerged from a unique collaboration with a leading shipping company, which sought Box2Build's specialized capabilities to explore the feasibility of such a product.
Recognizing the distinctive challenges associated with scrap metal transport, Box2Build embarked on an intensive development journey. The team quickly formulated a concept leveraging its patented folding mechanism, coupled with bespoke features to enhance the loading and unloading processes of scrap metal. This concept soon matured into a detailed design, meticulously engineered to meet the rigorous standards of ISO1496-4/5, ensuring compliance for the safe transport of dry bulk goods and the secure handling of folded and bundled containers.

The production of a prototype marked a significant milestone, leading to the successful certification under ISO1496-4 tests, affirming its safe usage for dry bulk transportation. The initial production batch comprised four containers, enabling comprehensive testing of a bundled fold (4:1), further validated under ISO1496-5 for the safe transport of folded container bundles.
A notable innovation accompanying the container is the custom-designed folding station, which guarantees a safe and efficient container folding process. Given the consistent loading and unloading points for scrap metal, just one station is required at each endpoint, underscoring the system's efficiency and operational safety.
